Your boy Scuba Smurf been grinding off the scene and getting close to hooking this sump up. Currently trying to get hooked up with Polyplab to showcase there blocks and build that true micro bio diversity Salem has interested me on to build my knowledge and a better living safe for this amazing animals we call coral! For my overflow box that will go inside the tank. I am having a new 3-D printed overflow box for inside the tank, that will showcase the same volume as the old box that was attached to the acrylic box, but it will be more thin so It won’t be so bulky visually in the back of my tank . This build has been fun, now to learn how to plumb it all!!! Happy Reefing everyone!

Here is how the build has been going. Had a different sump donated to me. I have loaded it up with 50 bio blocks and still want to get a polylabs block to finish off my bio load section. I have a new job overflow box being 3d printed for inside the tank to be slim profile. Will use the 800gph with controller to help with return and have a 3/4inch check valve for the supply. Definitely excited to see this bio diversity expand from my current Tidal 110 HOB filled with live rock and media. Thanks for following along and stay tuned for more of the build.

Picked up this 15 gallon sump and overflow box for cheap. Wanting to maybe rebuild the tank overflow box portion to make more long and slender and add a dual siphon tube. Want to find a SICCE 2.0 silent pump if anyone has any connections. Other than that all knowledge of a sump and tips would be great

Well speaking with UNDERWATER WONDERS when I first started, they described to me that a light in the center only cones out so far only hitting one side of the coral. Set out on a mission to fully cover my canopy with light from all angles to help with shadowing as things grow and just to make sure from face rock work was lit and all sps got light 360 around..

So last week I got a white/blue light bar from UNDERWATER WONDERS to replace my fluval 32 watt that I had angled down in front for front lighting. I loved the light so much I went back and got another 24”, but this time all blue and mounted it angled from my top 2 150 watt gen 1 running at 20%W and 85%B. I am running each light for one hour each day on a timer. Will bump up 1 hour each week. 1month for 4hrs of white lights and 2months to get blues up to the 8hrs. Can’t wait to see everything really pick up knowing I have better PAR. Still would like to borrow a par reader to dial in my Nicrews with the controller. Thanks for following along

Picked up a new light bar from Underwater Wonders! Talking with Seth we both agreed would be better than the Fluval 32 watt I was using for front angled lighting! I can say I lost some features but gained a whole lot making the switch! Slowly ramping up the hours to run with white/blue period. Will add a full blue bar just light in between the main light and the blue/white.

Hey everyone! 👋 I’m excited to join the group and connect with other reefers! My name is Rusty, and I’m based in Milliken, Colorado. I’ve been in the saltwater hobby for a while now, and I’m always learning something new — that’s one of the things I love about this hobby. I wanted to introduce myself and share a bit about my current setup: 🔹 Tank Size: 39 gallon bowfront 🔹 Filtration: Tidal 110 HOB with live rock, filter floss, DIY refugium with chaeto, 9 watt SICCE UV clarifier 🔹 Lighting: [e.g., 2x NICREW 150 watt, Fluval 32 watt bar angled for front lighting 🔹 Flow: Hyger 18w & 12w gyro wavemaker 🔹 Controller: Jaebo dosing pump 🔹 Dosing: [e.g., All-for-Reef daily, plus manual aminos, and photo 🔹 Livestock: Pair of clowns, Tomini tang, royal gramma, lawnmower blenny, 6 line wrasse, conch, hermits, snails, 🔹 Corals: Have a good mix of everything in my tank, but definitely missing some. I’m currently focused on dialing in stability for SPS growth and color]. Always happy to chat about reef chemistry, gear hacks, or just cool livestock! Looking forward to learning from all of you and contributing where I can. Happy reefing! 🐠🌊 – Rusty
