Need to replace tank, and stand -- anyone local to hire for the job?
I have a 55 gallon SW tank with fish, crabs and rose anemonies. This is the second tank where I've had the plastic center support crack. I have had two vices keeping the glass from bowing. I've decided I just need to replace the whole thing because the cabinet is also showing lots of wear.
I dread doing this myself and was hoping I could get a recommendation from the group on someone local who is is the business of setting up tanks, and who would help me with the whole process.
I have a Copper Banded Butterfly that I am particularly concerned about with water quality. I need to have the new tank cycled and doing well before moving things over.
It seems like the safest way to accomplish this is to set up the new system, get it running well, and slowly move things over from the existing tank to the new one.
Trouble is, I really want the new tank in the same spot as the old one.
I welcome advice from others on this.
Thanks
Sylvia
