Well had to do it. Went out grabbed a new toy so it was time to start!!

So I was going for a different style instead of stacking 2 boards and having to try and figure out the base to lay out the bottom for the sump. Made it a little tricky but super sturdy and still have 6 braces to add in.

With everything going on tank was drilled peninsula style with short side having the overflow blacked out behind the overflow to still conceal the plumbing. Tank still needs returns drilled and back painted. All in all so far digging the look.

I'll keep updating as I go. Tune in for more tomorrow!
Made some small progress lol. Had a buddy help throw the sump under to see how it looks. Started plumbing the return. Waiting for 1in ball valves to come in to run the rest and still have to drill the return. It will go from 1in and reduce to 3/4 at the tank return hole. DCP 8000 for the return pump. I do have 1in drains and the sump is a beast. Gonna have maybe one sine flow gyre in the tank otherwise flow will be good from the returns. Once I mock the plumbing up I will need to glue and finish the stand.
So now who is good with wood working and has some time possibly to help a brotha out lmao....hahaha
Was able to get the racks placed out. Old school egg crate for the win!!! Was putting an order in at rhino's reef when we had some unexpected things pop up. He does have the measurements though so sooner then later we will have those bad boys in tank.
Might switch the ends and throw low flow on opposite side of the overflow. Returns are going to be drilled on the backside one central one on far end away from overflow. 1in return lines reduced to 1/2in at the loc-line.
Each return will y split to 2 outputs. 2 duck bills with 2 rfg. Wave makers will consist of 2 regular running opposite schedules one rear by over flow one on same side as over flow. Gyre will be placed opposite side of overflow box. The flow will be adjustable with having dual returns to dual outputs.
Low flow area will be part rock with a sand area for an ornamental wrasse. Rock structure will be a minimalist approach with some shelf rock and utilizing rock rubble footing. Rock area is going to be on back side with a barebottom front for the meatier corals.
Racks will have barebottom base for easy clean up. There is some room in front of racks for shrooms and zoa grow out.
High intensity lighting over high rack with it trickling down towards edges. Edge racks and low flow area will have its own lighting synced together for same intensity.
Fishy friends will consist of:
1.) Ornamental Wrasse
2.) Pair of clowns one full naked orange and one extreme misbar.
3.) Orange shoulder
4.) Sailfin
5.) Banded Serpent Star
6.) Unknown
7.) Unknown.
Sump biggest chamber will have 8 bricks with rock and biosphere. 1st chamber will have full refugium and chaeto floss chamber. Last chamber will be dosing area with an external return pump.
Loving this build so far and love having another clean slate to work with. All racks will be able to be removed into a secondary tub for tank cleaning and rack
cleaning. I have a a large secondary rack to hold plugs and corals when cleaning.
Looks great so far!
Yeah buddy!!!
